Red fruits and vegetables
Lycopene having anti-cancer properties is a powerful antioxidant found in red fruits and vegetables, especially tomatoes. Carrots, grapefruit, berries. The fats fight inflammation and strengthens the immune system, preventing prostate cancer from developing and progressing. Eating these fish and some other foods like oysters, chia seeds and walnuts is great for cardiovascular health, which is important for prostate cancer survivors.
Meat cooked over high heat causes release of cancer-promoting chemicals, hence consumption of red meet limited to 8 ounces per week is strongly recommended. Following a more plant-based diet can help lower cancer, heart problems and excess weight. Treating prostate cancer is not only a doctor’s job. Patients can do a lot to prevent and manage this disease through nutrition and healthy diets.
