1. Essential nutrients to fetus:
Everything the pregnant women eat will be passed to fetus through water. The water will absorb essential nutrients into the cells and transports vitamins, minerals and hormones to the blood cells. Every important nutrient-rich blood cells that reach placenta is through Water.
2. Recommendation of water intake during pregnancy:
On general rule of thumb it is advised to drink 10 glasses of water (including all sources). If your intake is more or less it is good to talk to your practitioner about it.

As a pregnant you will be consuming for two. It is also essential to flush out the waste product for two. Drinking lot of water will help to flush all the toxins out of your body. Pregnant women are more prone for urine infections than others. Water will help to flush out the bacteria present in the urinary tract, preventing you from UTI’s.
Pregnant women are more prone for constipation which might lead to hemorrhoids. Water will also help to move the solid waste more easily through digestive path.
4. Prevent fatigue, Overheating:
Drinking lot of water can keep the body’s cooling system to run smoothly. It prevents you from overheating and dehydrating. It also helps to remove excess sodium from the body which reduces the swelling of the feet.
5. Water safety
Make sure water that you are drinking has enough fluoride in it. The tap water needs to be checked if it is good for drinking. It might contain harmful chemicals like lead,mercury and arsenic which is highly poisonous for health. Checking the water for safety is very essential before drinking the water.
6. Other ways to get hydrated:
Along with water there are other fluids which we consume has water content in it. Even some vegetables like cucumber, beetroot, squash have lot of water content in them. If you drink milk then it also contain some ounce of water. Fruits that we eat are packed with water. Soups are more water. There are many ways of keeping yourself hydrated apart from drinking water.
