Each country is unique in its own way. When you are an expat from the U.S in the U.K, there are certain you are really going to miss, like some of these foods mentioned below which taste so different from America.
Skittles in the UK taste very different as they don’t contain gelatin (vegetarians would love to hear this though). Also, in the US, skittles are treated with vitamin C, that gives a different taste.
French fries in the McDonald’s of UK tastes almost like chips. The greasy and salty delicious French fries are just not present in the UK version. Chicken nuggets too taste different. Whereas, there are other items on menu that could make your taste buds happy; like the mozzarella dippers!
3. Coke Cola
Coke in the U.K actually tastes better though it is a most common drink the U.S. The reason being, U.K uses real sugar in the making of Coke, unlike the U.S which uses High Fructose Corn Syrup to sweeten the drink.
4. Kit Kat
The yummy crunchy bites of the U.S Kit Kats are because they are made by the Hersheys exclusively. Whereas, Kit Kats in rest of the world are made by Nestle. This explains the difference in taste.
They don’t sell the mashed potatoes in KFC in the U.K. Instead they sell French fries (again, so much like chips). Also, the fried chicken is not delicious like the U.S ones.
Smarties in the U.S are those delicious hard candies which any kid would love. But in the U.K, they don’t even look the same as made in the U.S. Also, in England, Smarties are made of chocolate!
7. Cadbury chocolate
A Cadbury chocolate bar is way too good in the U.K than the U.S. Europe knows how exactly to make chocolates. Literally. The taste, texture and the feel of U.K Cadbury is so mesmerizing. This is because of the amount of cocoa used, flavor of milk, and the duration of mixing of the chocolate ingredients are all different in the U.K.
